How this works
No mystery, no algorithm picking for you
We think you should know exactly what this site does with what you tell it, and exactly how the firms shown to you got there. Here it is in full.
You choose two things
The state where the injury happened, and the general topic: personal injury, workers' compensation, or mass tort. Those are your selections, made from a menu. Nothing is inferred about you.
We run a plain lookup
We show every participating firm whose advertising profile lists that state and that topic, ordered by the date they joined. There is no scoring, no ranking, no bidding for position, and no assessment of your situation. If four firms advertise for your combination, you see all four.
You choose a firm, or none
You are free to contact any of them, several of them, or none. You can also look up any of them independently before deciding, and we would encourage that.
If you ask to be contacted, that firm receives your information
Only after you affirmatively ask, and only the firm or firms you selected. Any intake questions you answer at that point are being asked on behalf of the firm you chose, as part of that firm's own intake process.
What we do not do
- We do not evaluate, review, score or qualify your situation.
- We do not recommend a firm, rank firms, or say any firm is better suited to you.
- We do not sell your information to the highest bidder. Position cannot be bought.
- We do not take any share of any attorney's fee, and we are not paid based on whether you hire anyone or what happens in your matter.
- We do not give legal advice. Our information assistant explains general rules and will decline to apply them to your facts, because doing so would be practising law.
What participating firms must have
Firms must meet all of the following to advertise here. These are objective requirements, not quality judgments, and we make no claim that a firm meeting them is better than one that does not:
- A current, active licence to practise in the state where they advertise, with no disciplinary suspension in effect.
- Current professional liability insurance.
- A physical office address and a working telephone number published on their profile.
- Agreement to respond to enquiries they accept, and to tell the person promptly when they do not.
How firms pay
A flat monthly advertising fee, fixed in amount and fixed in term. It does not change with how many enquiries a firm receives, whether anyone signs with them, or what any matter is worth. Fees differ by state and topic based on advertising reach, never on the expected value of any case.
Advertising is non-exclusive. We do not sell exclusive territories or exclusive practice areas, because doing so would narrow your choice and, in our view, start to look like steering.
What happens to what you tell us
We keep a record of what you submitted, when, and the exact consent language you were shown. We share it only with the firm or firms you selected. Health-related details are treated as sensitive information and are only collected with your affirmative consent. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
If you ask us to delete your information, we will, subject to any record we are required to keep. The firm you contacted holds its own separate copy under its own obligations to you.
